Burr Wildlife Area

The Burr Wildlife Area in Clay County has recently been expanded through help of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. More information on this unique area is pending. You can learn more from the Clay County Conservation Board by calling - 712-262-2187

Location Description

Plant communities on the preserve range from dry mesic prairie to Woodland. Come see Compass plant, Gray-headed coneflower, and Bergamot, to name a few. Also see Bobolink, Dickcissel, Wood Thrush, Eastern Kingbird, and Red-tailed Hawk here.
