Hurlbut Wildlife Area
This diverse site offers a small man-made lake, oxbows adjacent to the river, forest and upland grassland areas. A mowed one mile loop hiking trail gives you an opportunity for a leisurely stroll through the woods. The restored grassland has bluestem, switchgrass, Indian Grass, and side oats gramma. The pond has a variety of wildflowers around it. River Corridor Watch for Bobolink, Dickcissel, Eastern Kingbird, Cowbird, Eastern Goldfinch, Ring-necked Pheasant, Wild Turkey, Gray Partridge and deer.
